Privacy notice
How we collect, use and protect your personal and clinical information.
Who we are
Chingford Smile & Orthodontic Studio, 66 Station Road, Chingford, London, E4 7BA, is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. You can contact us on 020 8529 1298 or at info@chingfordsmile.co.uk.
What we collect
Contact details you provide through our enquiry forms, by telephone or by email; clinical records including your medical history, examination findings, radiographs and clinical photographs; and appointment and payment records.
Website analytics data, where you have consented to analytics cookies. This is aggregated and does not identify you personally.
Why we use it
To provide safe and appropriate dental care, to contact you about appointments and treatment, to process payments and finance arrangements, and to meet our legal and regulatory obligations as a dental practice.
Clinical information is processed on the basis of the provision of health care; enquiry details are processed on the basis of your consent and our legitimate interest in responding to you.
How long we keep it
Adult dental records are retained for a minimum of eleven years after your last visit. Records for children are kept until their 25th birthday, or their 26th if they were seventeen at the last appointment. Enquiry details that don't lead to registration are deleted within twelve months.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We share it only where necessary — for example with dental laboratories, specialist colleagues to whom you're referred, or finance providers where you've applied for a payment plan — and always with appropriate safeguards in place.
Clinical photography
Before-and-after photographs are only published on this website or on social media where you have given specific written consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time and we will remove the images from material we control.
Cookies
We use essential cookies required for the site to function, and analytics cookies only where you have accepted them. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Your rights
You have the right to access a copy of your records, to have inaccurate information corrected, to restrict or object to certain processing, and to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. To exercise any of these rights, please contact the practice.
