We're always pleased to welcome new patients of any age. Here's exactly what happens, so there are no surprises on the day.
What to expect
A first appointment in four parts

A proper conversation
We start by asking about your dental history, any past experiences that worry you and what you'd like to achieve.
- 02
A thorough examination
Teeth, gums, bite, existing work and a soft-tissue check — including screening for anything that needs attention early.
- 03
Showing you what we see
Photographs and, where useful, digital scans, so you can see exactly what we're describing.
- 04
A clear written plan
Your options, with costs and priorities set out in writing. You take it away and decide in your own time.
Before you arrive
- We're at 66 Station Road, Chingford, London, E4 7BA, a short walk from Chingford station.
- Arrive five minutes early to complete a short medical history form.
- Bring a list of any medication you take.
- Tell us in advance if you're anxious — we'll allow extra time.
New patient questions
Do I need a referral to join?+
No. You can book a new patient examination directly with us, whether you're moving from another practice or returning after a long break.
How long is a first appointment?+
Usually around 45 minutes, so there's time to talk properly rather than rush through an examination.
Can I transfer my records from another dentist?+
Yes — with your consent we can request your notes and recent radiographs, which helps avoid repeating anything unnecessarily.
What should I bring?+
A list of any medication you take, and any questions or concerns you'd like to cover. That's genuinely all.
Feeling apprehensive?
